Hagir joined Forum 2000, founded in 1996 by Václav Havel, Yohei Sasakawa, and Elie Wiesel, alongside esteemed peacemakers and global leaders.

This year, she participated in the panel "A Forgotten War: Unfolding Tragedy in Sudan," focusing on raising awareness of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

Engaging Diaspora Communities The 'Engaging Diaspora Communities' session, led by two Council Spotlight Breakout Winners from Harrisburg and Utah, focuses on the inclusion of diaspora and local international voices in programming. Hagir Elsheikh and Dr. Palina Louangketh will highlight strategies for broadening audience engagement by incorporating diverse perspectives, with practical examples shared by the facilitators. Councils will learn how to create more inclusive and representative programming, ensuring sustained participation from new and diverse communities.
